First Day of School

Each year as the first day of school rolls around, our house is visited by a Tazmanian Devil. For 2-3 days this peculiar creature drinks our coffee until the wee hours of the morning and tears up our school room. All of the books are deshelved, supplies are scattered, old pet habitats are turned over and a general chaos ensues. This year, Brandon actually stayed up trying to catch a glimpse of this creature and determined that once he saw this room, he might not want to hang around or he might get blamed for the mess.

Carson turns 6 - Casey turns 4!

We had several birthdays at our house this past weekend. Carson turned 6 and Casey turned 4. Aunt Katherine also had a birthday along with Casey, but we won't discuss her age!

Spelunking

Cameron and I went to Cumberland Caverns with the cub scouts. We walked, scooted, slid and squeezed through some tight spots in the cave, but had a great time and even slept overnight in the cave.

Pinewood Derby

Today we had our annual Pack 455 Pinewood Derby Race. 87 race cars were entered at a great time was had by all. Cameron and Carson both placed 3rd in their divisions and Connor placed 4th.

Cameron will advance on to the district races in a few weeks.

Ski Trip 2011

Carson's first ski trip in January 2011. We went back to Paoli In for a ew days of skiing and the indoor water park at French Lick. A little rain, a little snow and a whole lot of fun!

The six of us went camping with Cavette, Megan and Wyatt at Joe Wheeler State Park in Florence on September 17-19. Once of our favorite past times was playing The Settlers of Catan. Cavette won most of the games...because he is "almost perfect!"

Couting Eggs Before They hATCHED

We had our first day of a dozen eggs! That means each chicken laid an egg. Woohoo! One thing can be said, our chickens have helped makes some really good omlets!

Summer Swimming

We have missed having a pool at the new house, but Uncle Derek and aunt Katherine have been very gracious in allowing us to swim in theirs. We have enjoyed watching the kids learn how to dive and even Casey has been jumping off the diving board. These youngsters swim like fish!

Camping October 2009

The Coopers, Culwell and Robinsons and Bells went camping to Fall Creek Falls for Will's Birthday. We hiked in the rain, sang songs, ate and enjoyed a very nice weekend together.

It has been a long time since my last post. We have moved and been working on our new house in Eads. The kids love the room and we don't mind the drive.

Christy and Brandon spent a long weekend in Hot Springs for their 11th anniversary! They also had their first, but not last, Bed and Breakfast experience in Hot Springs, AR. The place was beatuiful and we both felt very relaxed by the end of the weekend.

The Cooper Family has stepped out and rescued a dog from the Memphis Humane Society. "Haley" is a lab mix that is the newest member of our family and has been warmly welcomed by all family members...even the cats are warming up to her. Cameron, Connor and Carson are just ecstatic to have our new friend!

The difference in a girl!

I don't think I realized how different having a little girl would be! The boys have always liked to dress up in costumes, but never as fairy princesses (thank goodness!) and never in outfits that make quite this much noise. Casey would rivel a Tennessee walking horse's sound as she clip clops along in these shoes. The differences are in attitude and vocality are also becoming apparent...Watch out world!

Is this an idol?

This year's American Idol competition had a serious drama queen that loved to wear these kinds of headbands. I cannot look of this picture of Casey without thinking of this guy...but in all seriousness, Casey has alot more talent!!!

Ouch!

Ouch! Poor Casey! She got her pinky stuck in an escalator at the Pink Palace. Luckily, Daddy got to here just before the second finger went in and this one came off. She had 5-6 stitches and did very well...Three weeks later she will still let you kiss her boo-boo.

Sadly, we went to Uncle Tence's funeral in Russellville in February. One bright spot in the weekend was taking the kids up on Mt. Nebo. The loved the view and Connor even took a good shot of Mommy and Daddy!

We had a snow day in Memphis on Sunday. We played, we sledded, we made snow men, we threw snowballs, we made snow cream...and all of that was before 9AM. Ours was one of 2 churches in Memphis having services, so we went to worship soon after playtime.

Brandon, Christy, Cameron and Connor went to Snowshoe, WV at the end of January 2009. We skied for 5 days and by the end of the trip, Cameron was skiing blacks with Daddy, and Connor and Mommy were both tackling blues...Carson and Casey each got some alone time with the grandparents. It was a great week and I know many memories were made that will last us all our lives!

Cameron and Connor both tested for belts in Karate last week. Cameron moved on to the Orange Belt. and connor to the white/blue. They are both doing well with the tests and love to spar!

New Years Eve this year we stayed in...We watched Arthur and the Invisibles and Journey to the Center of the Earth, ate soup and fresh baked cookies and sat by a warm fire. Carson was sick for the night, but all three boys made it to 2009 (Casey fell asleep about 11:15.)
